“I have been scanning my online shopping sources for this type of backpack for years. I wanted something with a timeless look (perfectly achieved by the high quality canvas & leather/brass detailing) but also durable and highly functional (check that box too, with the laptop sleeve, back pocket, and numerous leather strap attachments). It is beautiful bag, but more than that, seems very durable and will stand up to many hikes, camping trips and being stuffed under airplane seats. Couldn't be happier with the quality of this backpack, especially considering its price tag is the best I have seen in all my online scouting.”

Pretty Solid Pack

"While it doesn't have the perks and whistles that other hiking packs have, it holds its own for what it is -- a simple, throwback pack. The canvas, leather straps, and buckles are nice and have held up to my abuse for a while now, which is admirable. I'd recommend it for great pack for day hikes or travel. About the outside straps: they're usually great for carrying a tripod, blanket, jacket, etc. but because they use a buckle (like a belt) sometimes it's hard to get the perfect tight-but-not-too-tight-but-not-too-loose hold. This can lead (albeit very rarely) to things slipping out or, alternately, putting a lot of strain on the leather straps. To their credit the leather appears no worse for the wear."
